Dwarf Thunderers

Kolejny obiecany post z krasnoludowego progresu :) Tym razem fotki Strzelców oraz kilka słów o tym projekcie. Zapraszam ^^


Here is another post from my Dwarfen progress :) This time the pictures of the thunderers and a few words on this project  ^^











Ostatnio pokazywałem Wam oddział Longbeard'ów, natomiast dzisiaj kolejny, tym razem trochę większy. Całość to 20 modeli Thunderer'ów + 3 tray'e. Tray'e były robione tak jak Wam to już pokazywałem w tym tutorialu. Modele zostały podzielone na dwa oddziały po 10 stąd 3 traye (1x na 20modeli i 2x na 10 modeli w zależności jak klient będzie chciał ich wystawić ^^ ). Aby oba oddziały się odróżniały od siebie dostały różne główne motywy kolorystyczne, jeden zielony, drugi bordowy. Command squad również został podzielony tak aby każdy miał oddział miał przynajmniej jednego gościa :D No to teraz ile mi zeszło czasu na skończenie tego projektu? Około 10-11h na model co sumując daje mniej więcej 220h +/- 20h, także trochę już tego wyszło.

Last time I have showed you a unit of LongBeards. Today next unit this time a bit bigger. In total twenty models of thunderers plus three movement trays. They were done in the same way as I have shown in this tutorial. Models have been divided into two units of ten that is why there are three trays. (one for twenty models and two for ten depending how the client wants to field them). In order for both of them to be different from one another they were given two colour schemes, one is green, second is dark red. Command squad has also been divided so that there is at least one of them per unit. Now how long it took me to finish this project? Around ten to eleven hours per model that in sum takes me to around two hundred and twenty hours plus minus twenty hours, that is quite a bit.

To był chyba najdłuższy projekt nad jakim pracowałem. Serio... Rzadko pracuję nad masówką, a jeszcze w dodatku nad masówką z zachowaniem wysokiego poziomu. Ciężki był to kawałek do zgryzienia. Mimo wszystko jestem zadowolony z efektu końcowego i z tego jak udało mi się uprościć niektóre elementy, które mimo wszystko wyglądają nieźle :)

That was probably the longest project that I was working on. Seriously... I rarely work on mass projects, especially on mass high quality projects. That was a though one. All in all I am happy with the end result and with the fact that I have managed to simplify some thing and they still look good :)


Co do samych modeli... O boże... Wiem, że to są już starawe wzory itd., ale tutaj są takie babole rzeźbiarskie, że aż mnie skręca. Głowy nie pasujące do torsów, włosy przechodzące przez ręce, cholerne (jak malowałem to przeklinałem jak szewc ten element) zakręcone wzory na lufach i wiele wiele innych, o których mógłbym mówić i mówić. Mimo wszystko (tak, mimo wszystko!) znalazłem element, który przypadł mi do gustu bardzo, a chodzi tutaj o twarz. Może nie w każdym wzorze, ale jest parę takich, które mi się naprawdę super malowało. Może jeszcze brody były w porządku, ale w sumie nie tak dobre jak u Longów :P

As for the models themselves... oh my god... I know that these are old models and all but there are some terrible sculpting errors. Heads not fitting torsos, hair that go threw hands, bloody (I was swearing like crazy when I painted it this element) curvy patterns on the rifles and many more that I could go on and on. But I have managed to find an element that I did like. I mean the face maybe not in every model but there were ones that I had a lot of fun painting. Maybe the beards were also nice, but not a good as in the long beards :P


No nic, koniec tego projektu i trzeba brać się za następny, czyli albo Warriorsi albo Kowadło, zobaczymy :)

Oh well that is the end of that project, time to take on a new one. This means warriors or the anvil we will see about that :)
