I came back in one piece and very happy. I have a lot to show and a lot to tell. You just have to be on events like this, instead of sitting at home and paint for yourself. Thus I am starting with my usual after-event blog relation. I invite you all to my little diary xD

Tak jak ostatnio zaczęliśmy naszą przygodę już w piątek z rana. Łukasz wraz z Marcinem (KWLM) podjechali po mnie koło 11 i już razem ruszyliśmy w stronę Torunia. Na miejscu byliśmy już coś koło 12 i od razu (tak jak w zeszłym roku xD) ruszyliśmy do Jana Olbrachta na przepyszne piwo.
Just like last time we have started our adventure on Friday morning. Lukas and Marcin (KWLM) picked me up around 11 and together we went to Torun. We got there around 12 and like the last time we went to Jan Olbracht for some good beer.
Ogólnie piątek to idealny dzień przed konkursem gdzie można tak na prawdę wychillować. Z Olbrachta szybko przenieśliśmy się na jakiś obiad, i tutaj znów powtórka z poprzednich Toruńskich eventów, wpadliśmy do Luizjany na burgery (polecam!). Tam dołączył do nas Maciej Pomianowski (niezły rzeźbiarz :P) i razem ruszyliśmy nad Wisełkę.
Generally Friday is a perfect pretournament day that allows you to chill out. From Olbracht we went for some dinner. Here is another repeat of last year. We have gone to Luiziana for burgers (highly recommended!). There we have been met by Maciej Pomianowski (good sculptor :P) and together we went to see the Vistula river.

Tutaj też trzeba było zahaczyć o jakąś knajpkę. Idealnym miejscem na jeszcze większy chill w tak przyjemną pogodę jaka nam się trafiła była oczywiście zacumowana barka przerobiona na bar.
Here we also had to drop by a pub. An ideal place to chill out with such a nice weather had to be a barge with turned into a bar.

Długo zeszło nam leżakowanie w tamtym miejscu, lecz w końcu trzeba było się ruszyć :P Cały nasz event odbywał się w Szkole Podstawowej nr.1, która znajdowała się na starówce. Tam już spotkaliśmy się z orgami i zaczęliśmy rozstawiać nasz klubowy stół (jak zwykle ja tylko patrzyłem xD) oraz modele konkursowe.
We spent some quality time there, but in the end we had to move :P The entire event took place in the primary school no.1 that was located in the old city. There we met with the organisers and started to set up our clubs table (as usual I was rooting from the back xD) and our tournament models.

Całość wyszła dość zgrabnie więc razem z następną ekipą wróciliśmy ponownie na barkę :3 Tam już siedzieliśmy do wieczora, wiadomo :D Na koniec spotkaliśmy jeszcze lootpile.eu wraz z piesełem i zahaczyliśmy o Pierogarnię, a stamtąd wróciłem spokojnie do mojej noclegowni.
Everything went quite well so we went back to the barge with the next crew. There we sat till the evening :D In the end we also met lootpile.eu along with their dog stop by Pierogarnia, from there I went to my hostel.

Wstałem wyspany, ogarnąłem się i ruszyłem na event. Po drodze spotkałem Mrozków (Frost rzuca się w oczy w tłumie :3 ). Fajnie było już z rana spotkać znajome ryjki. Po dotarciu na miejsce można było już obczaić wstępnie pierwsze prace no i oczywiście stoiska z towarem :D
Got up well rested, prepped myself and of to the event. On the way I met the Mrozeks (frost is hard to miss in the crowd :3 ). It was nice to meet some known face first thing in the morning. Once we got there we could have a look at the first tournament works and the shops of course :D
Kategorii było dość dużo, tak samo jak sponsorów, lecz modeli nie zapowiadało się, że będzie wiele. Można już było dojrzeć pracę Frosta, Szymczyka, Rudyka czy Lana, lecz mimo wszystko byłem zawiedziony tym, że tych topowych prac nie było dużo. Nawet Arbal podrzucił parę swoich prac, choć pojawił się tylko na jeden dzień. Standardowo event był otwarty, więc szwendało się też trochę gapiów.
There were quite a lot of categories, as there were sponsors, but there were little expectations regarding the amount of works in the tournament. You could see the works of Frost, Szymczyk, Rudyk or Lan. However I was still disappointed that there were so little typical works. Even Arbal dropped in with some of his works, even thou he came only for one day. As usual the event was open so there were some admirers.
Powoli i sporadycznie dobijali różni uczestnicy konkursu (szkoda, że nie pojawił się ktoś nowy z dobrym warsztatem, no ale może w przyszłym roku). Oczywiście jak zwykle atmosfera świetna. Można było pogadać ze znajomymi, których już jakiś czas się nie widziało i to było właśnie najlepsze.
Slowly more and more people joined the tournament (to bad nobody with a good workshop showed up, but there is always next year). As always the atmosphere was superb. You could chat with people you didn’t see for some time and that was the best part.
Po dłuższych oględzinach wszystkich stoisk, powróciliśmy łódzką ekipą na wczorajszą barkę. Okazało się, że serwują tam świetną pizze z pieca :) Po takim wczesnym obiedzie chcieliśmy poszlajać się trochę po starówce. A musicie wiedzieć, że ten event zawsze orgowany jest w czasie Dni Torunia (które notabene trwają 2 tygodnie xD). Udało nam się zobaczyć zaledwie parę rzeczy. Przede wszystkim ogólnoświatowe zawody strażackie, oraz pokazy rycerskie :) Podobno był jeszcze teatr uliczny, ale nie mogliśmy na niego trafić :P
After a careful viewing of all the stands, the entire crew from lodz went back to the barge. As it turned out the serve an excellent oven backed pizza :) After this early dinner we wanted to do a little side seeing of the historic town. You must know that this event is happening during the days of Torun (that for the record are two weeks long xD). We have managed to see but a few things. First of all the worldwide firefighter championship, a jousting tournament :) There was supposedly a street theatre but we couldn’t find it :P
Wróciliśmy do szkoły. Prace były już wszystkie rozstawione i można było spokojnie obejrzeć oraz pocykać trochę fotek :) Tak więc aby nie przedłużać proszę bardzo o to moja galeria :P
We got back to school. All the works were already out
on the tables so you could easily look at them and take some pictures :) Thus

Around 3 pm the judges started to get to work. They done their job quickly. As always there was the usual integration meeting by the fire. Start was planned for 20:30. Until then nothing happened. A dinner at the restaurant, some shopping in Bierdonka for breakfast and a little rest in my room :)
Jak już wybiła godzina razem (a przynajmniej częściowo) ruszyliśmy na camping. Pogoda mocno nam dopisała (nie padało! :D) więc było przyjemnie. Po dotarciu na miejsce okazało się, że jest nas naprawdę sporo. Faktycznie w zeszłym roku złapał nas deszcz i to dlatego było nas mało, ale aż tyle chętnych na integracje się nie spodziewałem. Było naprawdę sympatycznie. Można było pogadać na luzie ze wszystkimi, a przy okazji zjeść kiełbasę z ogniska i wypić piwko :P Osobiście zawinąłem się coś koło 12tej, ale impreza trwała do 2giej :P
Once the time came (at least partly) we went to the parking. The weather was on our side (it didn’t rain! :D) so it was really nice. Once there it turned out that there were really quite a lot of us. Last year we were greeted by rain, and there weren’t as many. It was really nice. You could cassualy chat with all the people, and eat a backed sausage and have a beer :P I myself left around 12 but the part was until 2 in the morning :P

Ale pospałem :D Zmęczenie poprzedniego dnia mnie dobiło więc po przyjściu tylko zanurzyłem się w wyro i odpłynąłem xD Znowu szybki ogar (no może nie taki szybki, bo miałem wannę w łazience, a na co dzień w domu nie mam :3) i powrót na event. Rozdanie nagród miało nastąpić koło 14tej więc do tego czasu mogłem zrobić spokojnie zakupy :P
I slept like a log :D The weariness of yesterday took its toll as soon as I got back I went to bed and was fast asleep xD Again got myself organised quickly (well maybe not so quick, as I has a bath in my room and normally I only have a shower :3) and back to the event. The award ceremony was around 14 so until then I could buy a few things in peace :P

Standardowo kupiłem nowy set farb od Scale75, trochę piedestałków i książkę dla Czakiego. Później była zamuła. Zaczął padać deszcz i nie było nawet jak wyjść coś zjeść. Więc siedzieliśmy aż wybiła godzina zakończenia. W między czasie ludzie już zaczęli się pakować.
As usual I bought a new paint set from Scale 75, some plinths and a book for Czaki. Later it got gloomy. It started to rain and you couldn’t even go out to eat something. So we sat there until the closing hour. In the meantime people started to pack up.
Czas na wyniki. Jak zwykle nie pamiętam kto za co zdobył, sorry. Parę nagród zgarnęli chłopaki z Łodzi, w małych singlach zdominowała stała ekipa, w pocycach Arbal zgarnął też parę nagród, no i mnie tam coś się udało :D Powiem, że nawet bardziej niż się spodziewałem. Przywiozłem ze sobą 8 prac, 7 zostało nagrodzonych, super wynik. Udało mi się ugrać 6 wyróżnień (festiwal w Toruniu nie ma miejsc na podium, są wyróżniane 3 najlepsze prace w każdej kategorii) oraz 2 nagrody specjalne od sponsorów; Valhalla oraz Ragnarok. Cieszę się strasznie z takiej 'hurtowej' ilości nagród. Może jednak mój warsztat jednak trochę się poprawił w ostatnim czasie choć mam wrażenie, że poziom prac mam gorszych -.-
Time for the results. As usual I do not remember who got what, sorry for that. A few of the prizes had gone to guys from Lodz. The small mini category was dominated by the usual team, in busts Arbal got a few. I of course also got something as well. I can I did better than I expected. I brought with me 8 minis and got 7 prizes, that is a great result. I got 6 mentions (there are no podium places in this event, there are distinctions for 3 best works in each category) and two special prizes from the sponsors; Valhalla and Ragnarok. I am really happy from the wholesale of prizes. Maybe my workshop has gotten better recently, however I think that the level of my works has gone down -.-
No i na koniec kto zdobył Grand Prix. Zasłużenie choć sam odbierający stwierdził przy odbieraniu nagrody 'co? za jaką pracę?' xD Tym fajniejsze właśnie było to Grand Prix :) Gratulacje dla Frosta, którego prace zgarnęły bardzo dużo wyróżnień. Nie ma co gadać, po prostu miał eleganckie prace i tyle :) Gratulacje równie dla jego małej, która również zdobyła wyróżnienie i nagrodę od KWLMu. Majka ma potencjał i dobrych nauczycieli, oby tak dalej :3

prix. Fully deserved but even the nominee commented ‘what? For what?’ the
better was this award. Congratulations to Frost, whose works got a lot of
distinctions. There is nothing more to add, he simply had great works and that
is all. Also congratulations to his daughter, Maja has got potential and good
teachers. Keep up the good work :3

I tak event dobiegł końca. Zapakowaliśmy się, pożegnaliśmy i koło 16tej byliśmy już w drodze powrotnej.
And so the event has come to an end. We packed our stuff said our goodbyes and around 16 we were already on the way back.
Podsumowując tegoroczny event. Wydaje mi się, że prac było mało, choć mogło to być złudne ze względu na to, że w tym roku mieliśmy większą salę. Poziom prac ewidentnie był niższy niż w zeszłym roku, to fakt. Mimo wszystko jest to obowiązkowa impreza malarsko/rzeźbiarska na mapie Polski. Dużo atrakcji poza eventem, ponieważ to Toruń! no i jeszcze są to Dni Torunia! :D Osobiście jestem bardzo zadowolony ze swoich osiągnięć w tym roku. Oby w przyszłym poszło też tak dobrze :D Podziękowania ode mnie dla organizatorów za kawał ciężkiej pracy oraz gratulacje dla wszystkich uczestników.
To sum up the event. I think that there were little works, however this could be due to the fact the the hall was bigger this year. Level of works was evidently lower than last year, that is a fact. Despite it all it is a must on the maps of polish tournaments. There are lots of attractions outside the event, its Torun after all and these are its days. Personally I am very happy from my achievemts this year. Hope that next year will go as well :D My thanks to the organizers for their hard work and best wishes to all the participants.
Na koniec fota nagrodzonych modeli i fantów. Niektórych modeli jeszcze nie widzieliście (część wklejałem na funpage), więc w niedługim czasie porobię lepsze fotk. Tylko niech się sesja skończy!
